Dear Guru, by being with You, I came to know the One.
There are millions of heroes, and no one even asks about them.
But in the court of the One, I am welcomed and honored.
Through the Guru's company, I came to know the One, and I was honored where even great heroes are overlooked.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Sang tuhaarai jaani-o — by being with you, dear Guru, I came to know. The Guru is the true teacher who shows the way.
Kot jodh means millions of warriors. Many of them win no lasting notice at all. Yet dargeh bhee maani-o: in the One's court, the humble seeker is honored. Think of a school assembly where the quiet kid who always helps others gets called up first. Fame fades, but the quiet honor of knowing the One stays.
What kind of greatness matters more to you — being famous, or being known and welcomed for who you are?
