What can any poor mortal do to someone who has the Lord as his Savior and Protector? ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One has given the Naam to the one who serves.

Friend, what can any person do to someone the One protects?

When the One is your keeper, fear loses its power to shake you.
The deeper layer

Har har dee-o sayvak ka-o naam — the One gives the servant the Name. Jaa ko raakhaa raam — the One as protector — is the ground of fearlessness (nirbhau): not that hard things never come, but that the deepest self is safe, so fear loses its grip.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel safe enough that worries stop feeling so big?
