In plain words

When a person's love is held by the Naam,

that person becomes a good-hearted friend, at ease and glad without trying. People call them fortunate.

Love steadied on the One quietly makes you a kinder friend.
The deeper layer

Loving the Naam makes a person kind, easy and blessed.

This is the pause line, the rahaa-o, the center of the shabad.

Liv laagee means love that has settled in and stays steady. Think of how you feel about your best friend. You do not have to try to remember them. They are just part of you.

That kind of love changes a person. Sajan suridaa means a good-hearted friend. Suhaylaa means at ease, and sehjay means without effort. Badbhaagee means blessed and fortunate. Love of the Name quietly shapes someone into all of these.

A Question to Sit With

What kind of friend do you become when you feel most at peace inside?
