Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਹੋਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਕਵਨ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਣੀ ॥
hotee nahee kavan kachh karnee.
I cannot do anything else.
ਇਹੈ ਓਟ ਪਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤਹ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਏਕ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ihai ot paa-ee mil santeh gopaal ayk kee sarnee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I have taken this Support, meeting the Saints; I have entered the Sanctuary of the One Lord of the World. ||1||Pause||

There is nothing else I can do on my own.
Meeting the saints, I found this one support: the shelter of the One who keeps the whole world.
Admitting you cannot do it all alone is where support begins.
Leaning on the One is where support begins.
Hotee nahee kavan kachh karnee — 'I could do nothing by myself' — is honest smallness, not shame. Ihai ot paa-ee — I found this one anchor — ot is the single support; gopaal ayk kee sarnee, the sanctuary of the One. Grace is leaned on, not achieved.
