ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕਸ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥
jee-a paraan mukat ko daataa aykas si-o liv laa-o.
He is the Giver of the soul, the breath of life and liberation; lovingly tune in to the One and Only Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਦੇਤ ਸਗਲ ਅਪਿਆਉ ॥੨॥੫੩॥੭੬॥
kaho naanak taa kee sarnaa-ee dayt sagal api-aa-o. ||2||53||76||
Says Nanak, I have entered His Sanctuary; He gives sustenance to all. ||2||53||76||

The One gives you your very life, your breath, and your freedom — so let your love tune itself to that One alone.
Nanak says, I have stepped into the shelter of the One, who feeds and sustains every living thing.
The One who gives you your very breath feeds every living thing.
The One who gives every breath feeds every living thing.
Jee-a paraan mukat ko daata — giver of soul, breath, and liberation; aykas si-o liv laa-o — tune your love to the One. Det sagal api-aa-o — the One feeds all: the sanctuary is shared with all creation.
