The true Teacher revealed the True One to me, and that True One keeps my honor safe. My real food is love, and real peace comes through the True Name.
In the True Name there is peace, and a heart there is never torn from its Source — never lost, never cast out into fear.
Its light blends into the greater Light and merges with the True One, lit up by the True Name. Those who come to know the truth become true themselves, holding the True One in mind day and night. Those whose hearts are filled with the True Name never suffer the pain of being torn apart.
This verse says that love for the True One is real food, the kind that keeps the heart alive.
Sachaa bhojan bhaa-o sachaa: the true food is bhaa-o, love. We eat every day to keep our bodies going. In the same way, truth and love feed us day by day. Gurbani teaches that for a heart that has arrived, Truth becomes its food, its clothes and its home.
The old words marai na ko-ee garabh na joonee vaasaa speak of being free from the endless round of being born again and again. The comfort in them is simple. A heart held in the True Name is never torn away from its Source and never lost.
Jotee jot milaa-ee means the little light blends into the great Light. Picture one candle flame joining a bonfire. It is not lost. It becomes part of something bigger and brighter. That is the gentle picture of being one with the One.
What is something that feeds you on the inside, the way food feeds your body?
