The heart is full of a song of joy when it meets its dear Friend, the Beloved. Through the Teacher it turns clear and clean, keeping the One enshrined within.
Holding the One inside, its work comes right, and through the Teacher it comes to know the One.
The Beloved has won my heart — I have found the shaper of every life. Serving the true Teacher, it finds lasting peace, and the One who dissolves pride comes to live inside. The Teacher has joined it to Himself, made lovely by the Teacher's Word.
This one is about a heart that has been won over by love.
Preetam mohi la-i-aa man mayraa means "my Beloved has mohi la-i-aa, charmed and won, my heart." The pull toward the One feels like delight, not fear.
Har vasi-aa man muraaray means the One comes to live in the mind. The name used here is Muraaray, the One who melts away pride. As love moves in, ego eases.
Apnaa kaaraj savaaray means a person's real work comes out right once the One is held in the heart. Think of a messy room that gets tidy once you know where everything belongs.
This Chhant, a song of joy, ends with mayl la-ee: being joined to the Guru and made beautiful by the Word.
What is something that wins your heart so completely that everything else falls into place?
