Joining the company of good people, I bathe in the clear, clean pool of the One.
Washed in that clear water, whatever weighed on me is rinsed away, and I feel clean all through.
Muddled thinking clears, doubt runs off, and the ache of ego eases.
By grace I found that true company, and now I feel at home right inside myself.
My tongue tastes the One's joyful song, and the Name shines bright.
This one says the truest washing happens on the inside, in good company.
Har sar nirmal naa-ay means bathing in the nirmal, clean, sar, pool, of the One. Many people bathe at holy rivers and pools. This verse points to a washing that happens inside, in the satsangat, the company of good people.
In that pool, durmat, muddled or twisted thinking, washes out. Doubt runs off, and the ache of ego eases.
Nij ghar ho-aa vaasaa means coming to live in nij ghar, your own true home inside. Think of getting home after a long trip and dropping onto your own bed. Peace is found within, not somewhere far away.
Who are the people whose company leaves your mind feeling clearer?
