Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The heart turned to the Teacher loves the Name, and thinks on the jewel of the Name deep inside.
Loving the Name, the Word carries it across, and the darkness of not-knowing clears.
Understanding blazes up like a lamp, and the whole inner house glows.
I offer my body and mind as my only ornaments, and this pleases the True One.
I gladly do whatever the One asks, and so I melt into the One's very being.
This one says the real treasure is already inside you.
Antar ratan beechaaray means thinking deeply on the ratan, the jewel, within. So the search goes inward. Think of hunting all over the house for your glasses, then finding them on your own head.
Gi-aan parchand bali-aa means gi-aan, wisdom, burns parchand, blazing bright. It lights up the ghar mandar, the home and temple of the heart.
Tan man arap seegaar banaa-ay means offering body and mind as your seegaar, your jewelry. The self given in love is the real decoration, more than rings or necklaces.
Jo prabh kahai so-ee par keejai means gladly doing whatever the One asks. It ends in ank samaa-i-aa: melting into the One.
What is something valuable inside you that no one can see from the outside?
