In plain words

So I ask my Teacher: how do I cross this wide river?

The answer: walk in step with the flow of what is true, letting the small, grasping self grow quiet even while you fully live — this is how you cross.

Then understanding lights up, the mind grows content, and, through the Word, my little light blends into the great Light, the way one flame joins another.

Letting the grasping self grow quiet — while fully alive — is how you cross.
The deeper layer

jeevtiaa maree-ai — dying while alive: not harming the body, but letting the grasping ego (haumai) go quiet while you live fully; the death is of self-centeredness, and it brings freedom now. jotee jot milaa-ee: one light merging into the Light — the soul is not erased but joined, like a small flame touched to a great one.

A Question to Sit With

What is one grasping habit that, if it grew quieter, would let you live more freely?
