In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

You are the free, unbound One, and countless hearts like mine belong to You.

You are a whole ocean, brimming with jewels — I cannot even measure Your worth.

You know all things; be kind to me, and give me the sense to keep You always in mind. Don't let me puff up with pride; let me stay humble as the dust — that is where I am truly safe.

Before something as vast as the ocean, staying humble is where you are truly safe.
The deeper layer

too saagro ratnaagro — the One as an ocean, source of jewels, immeasurably rich; the soul's honest smallness before that vastness is empty-handedness, not shame. garab na keejai rayn hoveejai, do not be proud, become the dust: humility as the ground of safety (gat). ghan chayree, many servants, expresses belonging to a boundless One, not lowliness.

A Question to Sit With

What is something so big it makes you feel small in a good, wonder-filled way?
