O Nanak, the Lord and Master is contained amongst all; He does just as He pleases. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
In plain words
Your depth is beyond all measure; You are everything, and I belong wholly to You.
You are the greatest of the great, and I am the smallest small — I am nothing on my own; You are the One, who knows all.
One glance of Your kindness, and I come fully alive, tasting every joy. At Your side my heart blossoms and my whole self turns green and alive again.
One glance of the One's kindness brings the whole heart to life.
The deeper layer
amrit darisat nimakh prabh jeevaa — a single nimakh, instant, of the One's nectar-glance (kind gaze) brings the soul to life: grace as a look of love. man ma-ulai tan haree-aa: the mind blooms and the body turns haree-aa, green, like a plant after rain. The bride-and-husband image is rendered simply as glad belonging.
