Wonder-Struck at the Sight

Gazing upon God, I live, and I am at peace; no one else is as great as He is.

Meditating on His Lotus Feet, I have crossed over the sea, the terrifying world-ocean.

Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Perfect Transcendent Lord; You have no end or limitation, Lord. ||2||

In plain words

I am wonder-struck, taking in the boundless sight of the One.

My Master is so beautiful; I am glad just to be the dust at His feet.

Beholding the One, I come alive and cool and calm — no one anywhere is as great. Present at the beginning, middle, and end, He fills sea and land and sky; keeping Him in mind, I crossed the wide waters. I take shelter in the Perfect One, who has no end and no edge.

Really seeing the One leaves you wonder-struck and cool and calm.
The deeper layer

bisam bha-ee — wonder-struck, the awe (bismaad) of really seeing. thandhee theevaa, I became cool: inner heat quieted into calm. aad ant madh, beginning, end, and middle: the One present through all of time. tayraa ant na paaraavaaraa, no end, no far shore — the boundlessness that fills the wonder.

A Question to Sit With
