Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Praise the One forever and ever, and give the One your whole self, body and mind.

Through the Guru's Word I have found the True One, deep beyond all measuring.

The One, the jewel of jewels, fills my mind, my body and my heart.

The pain of being born and dying is gone, and I will not be sent around that circle again.

Nanak says: praise the Naam, the One who is an ocean of goodness.

The most precious jewel is already shining inside your own heart.
The deeper layer

har heeraa heer = the jewel of jewels, found within (hirdai). janam maran kaa dukh ga-i-aa, fir pavai na feer = the pain of the round of birth and death is gone, and the circling does not begin again. gunee gaheer = ocean of excellence.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing might already be inside you that you keep looking for outside?
