Everyone longs for the Naam, and it is found through the Guru's teaching.
What the One wrote at the very beginning cannot be rubbed out.
dah dis ih man dhaavdaa, gur thaak rahaa-i-aa = the mind runs in ten directions; the Guru holds it still, a vivid picture of settling the restless mind. naavai no sabh lochdee = everyone longs for the Naam, whether they know it or not. dhur likhi-aa = what is written from the start: the shape each life is given within the flow of existence.
