Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I have obtained the subtle essence of the Lord. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I look everywhere for my Beloved One, searching and searching.

And where do I find that sweetness? In the company of those who love the One together — there the essence pours in.

Some things you seek alone, but find in good company.
The deeper layer

We search for the One on our own, but we find the One together.

Ha-o har parabh pi-aaraa dhoodh dhoodhaa-ee — I search and search for my Beloved. The search is real. Then: satsangat mil har ras paa-ee — meeting the satsangat, I tasted the sweetness. Satsangat means the true company, people gathered to love the One. Ras means sweet juice, the taste of something good.

Think of a song you hum alone. It's nice. Sing it with a whole choir and it fills the room. The Beloved is met in good company.

A Question to Sit With

What has been easier to find with others than by yourself?
