One Glance, and the Meeting Happens

Nanak is absorbed into the subtle essence of the Lord's Love. ||4||2||6||

In plain words

Let grace glance your way, and suddenly the Guru is there to meet.

Then you melt into the sweetness of the One's love, the way a color melts into cloth and becomes part of it forever.

One glance of grace can open the door you couldn't open yourself.
The deeper layer

Guru Ram Das is saying: one kind glance from the One, and the whole path opens.

Nadar karay taa satgur paavai means "when the One gives a glance of grace, the True Guru is found." Nadar is that loving glance.

Naanak har ras har rang samaavai means Nanak melts into the sweetness and the love of the One. Ras means sweetness, the taste of something good. Think of a teacher who notices a quiet kid and smiles. That one look can change a whole year. Grace leads to the Guru, and the Guru leads into the One's love.

A Question to Sit With

Has help ever arrived at exactly the moment you couldn't do it alone?
