Carrying a Heavy Load, Still Searching for the Way

ਅੰਧੁਲੈ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਠਾਇਆ ਡੂਗਰ ਵਾਟ ਬਹੁਤੁ ॥
anDhulai bhaar uthaa-i-aa doogar vaat bahut.
The blind man is carrying such a heavy load, and his journey through the mountains is so long.
ਅਖੀ ਲੋੜੀ ਨਾ ਲਹਾ ਹਉ ਚੜਿ ਲੰਘਾ ਕਿਤੁ ॥੫॥
akhee lorhee naa lahaa ha-o charh langhaa kit. ||5||
My eyes can see, but I cannot find the Way. How can I climb up and cross over the mountain? ||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Sometimes I feel like I am carrying a heavy load up a long mountain road, unable to see the path ahead.

My eyes are open, yet I still can't find the way on my own. How will I ever climb over? I need help to cross.

It's okay to admit you can't find the way alone — that's when help comes.
The deeper layer

anDhulai bhaar uthaa-i-aa — a heavy load carried as if unable to see, over long mountains; akhee lorhee naa lahaa, even with open eyes I cannot find the way. An honest admission that we cannot cross alone. (Rendered as inner blindness — not seeing the path — rather than as a comment on people who cannot see.)

A Question to Sit With

When is it hard for you to ask for help, even though you need it?
