Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
You are the Maker, and You already know every single thing. What could I possibly tell You that You do not already see?
You understand all of it, the good in me and the not-so-good. Whatever we plant with our actions is what grows back to us.
The Maker already knows everything about us. So what is left to say?
The verse calls the One kartaa, the Maker, who sabh kichh aapay jaaneh — knows it all. Ki-aa tuDh peh aakh sunaa-ee-ai — what could I tell You?
Then: jayhaa ko karay tayhaa ko paa-ee-ai — as we act, so we receive. This is a plain rule, sometimes called karma: what we do comes back to us. Think of a garden. Plant tomatoes and you get tomatoes. Plant kindness and kindness grows back. The verse says it gently. The One sees the good and the not-so-good in us, all of it.
How does it feel to be fully known by someone, without having to explain yourself?
