I have no power to do anything at all. As it pleases You, You forgive us. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My dear One, everything there is rests in Your hands.

I have no power of my own to make things happen, and yet, as it pleases You, You keep meeting me with kindness anyway.

Empty hands are exactly what grace can fill.
The deeper layer

sabh ko tayrai vas — all beings rest in the One’s hold. asaa jor naahee — the frank confession of powerlessness becomes not humiliation but empty-handed openness to grace (ji-o bhaavai tivai bakhas), which is met with mercy.

A Question to Sit With

Is there something you can only receive once you stop trying to control it?
