He does not see the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
It is easy to get swept up on the waves of wanting more, feeling puffed up and pleased with ourselves.
And in all that noise, we can go a long time without ever noticing the quiet, good people right beside us.
Wanting more is loud; the good people beside us are quiet and easy to miss.
lobh lahar ka-o bigas fool baithaa — riding the waves of lobh (greed), inflated like a blossom. saaDh janaa kaa daras na deethaa — so busy being pleased that one never sees the holy company nearby. Wanting-more is loud; goodness is quiet, and easy to miss.
A Question to Sit With
Who is a quietly good person in your life you might not thank often enough?
