The Highest Court of All

ਊਚ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ॥
ooch tay ooch taa kaa darbaaraa.
The Royal Court of His Darbaar is the highest of the high.
ਕਈ ਜੰਤ ਬਿਨਾਹਿ ਉਪਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
ka-ee jant binaahi upaaraa. ||3||
He creates and destroys countless beings. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One's presence is higher than the highest thing you could imagine.

It brings countless beings into life and gathers them back again.

You belong to something far vaster and steadier than any worry.
The deeper layer

This one means the One is greater than anything we can picture, and that helps our worries shrink.

ooch tay ooch taa kaa darbaaraa — the One's darbaar is the highest of the high. A darbaar is a royal court, the place where a king sits.

ka-ee jant binaahi upaaraa — the One creates countless beings and gathers them back again.

Think of looking up at a night sky full of stars. Your own worries suddenly feel smaller. That is the point here. We belong to something huge and steady.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel small, does knowing you are part of something huge feel scary or comforting?
