In plain words

When a heart is filled with love for the One, that heart is lifted and made beautiful.

Peace settles in, old aches are forgotten, and — no doubt about it — that heart is carried safely across.

A heart full of love is a heart at peace.
The deeper layer

A heart full of love is made beautiful, finds peace, and is carried safely across.

Guru Nanak uses the picture of a bhaaNdaa, a vessel, like a cup or a pot. Jin ka-o bhaaNdai bhaa-o — those whose cup is full of love. Tinaa savaarasee — the One makes them beautiful.

Sookhee karai pasaa-o — peace spreads through them. Dookh visaarasee — their old aches are forgotten.

Sarpar taarsee — "surely, the One will carry them across." Think of a friend holding your hand as you cross a busy road. You don't need to worry. The song begins with this happy fruit of a loving heart.

A Question to Sit With

What fills your heart and makes your worries feel smaller?
