It is easy to fall in love with beautiful things — fast rides, big houses, shiny possessions.
But when the journey moves on, none of those things come along; only what you grew inside stays with you.
This verse says that the things we own cannot come with us when life moves on.
Ghor mahal sadaa rang raataa: always dyed in love of horses and mansions. In those days, fine horses and big houses were what fancy cars and huge homes are now.
Sang tumhaarai kachhoo na jaataa: nothing goes sang, along with you.
Think of a library book. You can enjoy it, but it was never yours to keep. Gurbani often reminds us that outer riches are borrowed like that. What we grow inside, like kindness and love, is ours to carry.
What is something you value that no one could ever pack in a suitcase?
