Soohee, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਨਿਕ ਬੀਂਗ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥
anik beeNg daas kay parhari-aa.
God covers the many shortcomings of His slaves.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa parabh apnaa kari-aa. ||1||
Granting His Mercy, God makes them His own. ||1||

The One has a way of gently covering over the many little faults in those who turn toward it.
With kindness, the One draws them close and calls them its very own.
You do not have to be flawless to be claimed as someone’s own.
anik beeNg daas kay parhari-aa — the many beeng (flaws) of the servant are set aside. kar kirpaa parabh apnaa kari-aa — by kirpa made the One’s own. Grace that begins by accepting, not by demanding perfection.
