Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

All through the day and the night, I keep my mind turned toward the One.

And when it finally opens up inside me, I understand it was always meant to — like a seed that had been waiting a long time to sprout.

Keep turning toward the good, and it opens in its own time.
The deeper layer

This one means we keep the One in mind all day, and the opening comes in its own time.

aath pahar means the eight watches. Long ago the day and night were split into eight parts. So it simply means all day and all night.

poorab likhat ho-ay taa paa-ee-ai — it is found when it was written beforehand. This does not have to sound like a fixed fate. Think of a seed in a garden bed. You water it every day, and nothing seems to happen. Then one morning a green shoot is there. It was ready in its own season. Our part is to keep watering.

A Question to Sit With

What is something worth doing a little of every single day?
