O mind, if you forget the Primal Lord, you shall depart, having lost your honor.

This world is engrossed in the love of duality; follow the Guru's Teachings, and meditate on the True Lord. ||29||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
O my mind — if I forget the Source I came from, I drift off having lost the best of myself.
The world tugs everyone toward chasing the outside and the "other." But following the teaching and keeping what's real in mind, I stay connected to my root.
Forgetting your root is losing the best of yourself.
ay man moolhu bhuli-aa — O mind, forgetting your Source (mool, root); jaaseh pat gavaa-ay — you depart having lost your honor. gurmatee sach dhi-aa-ay — following the teaching, keep the True in mind and stay rooted.
A Question to Sit With
Where do you come from — what "root" do you never want to forget?
