Provisions for the Journey

man kaa tosaa har naam hai hirdai rakhahu samHaal.
The Lord's Name is the nourishment of the mind; cherish it, and preserve it carefully within your heart.
ayhu kharach akhut hai gurmukh nibhai naal. ||28||
This nourishment is inexhaustible; it is always with the Gurmukhs. ||28||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The food my heart travels on is the Name — so I tuck it carefully inside and carry it everywhere I go.

And here's the wonder: I can spend from it endlessly and it never runs out. It stays with me the whole way.

The Name is a provision you can spend forever and never use up.
The deeper layer

man kaa tosaa har naam hai — the Name is the mind's travel-provision (tosaa); ayhu kharach akhut hai — this is an inexhaustible spending that never empties. The Name as the food that sustains the whole journey of life.
