ਪਾਲਾ ਕਕਰੁ ਵਰਫ ਵਰਸੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਈ ॥੨੭॥
paalaa kakar varaf varsai gursikh gur daykhan jaa-ee. ||27||
Even in the cold, the frost and the snow, the GurSikh still goes out to see his Guru. ||27||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Even when it's bitterly cold — frost on everything, snow coming down — I'll still set out to be near the teaching.
Hard weather doesn't cool my wanting. If anything, pushing through it shows me just how much this matters to me.
Real longing isn't cooled by hard conditions.
paalaa kakar varaf varsai, gursikh gur daykhan jaa-ee — through cold, frost, and snow, the gursikh still goes to see the teaching. Another measure of longing: even hardship cannot cool it.
