Verse 3 of 15

Blossoming at the Sight of It

ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
ha-o satgur vaykh vigsee-aa har naamay lagaa pi-aar.
Gazing upon the True Guru, I blossom forth in ecstasy; I am in love with the Name of the Lord.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥
kirpaa kar kai mayli-an paa-i-aa mokh du-aar. ||2||
Through His Mercy, the Lord has united me with Himself, and I have found the Door of Salvation. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Seeing the teaching, my heart blossoms open, and a real love for the Name grows in me.

Grace drew me in and joined me to it, and there I found the open door — the way out of everything that used to trap me.

The right sight can make a heart blossom and open a door.
The deeper layer

ha-o satgur vaykh vigsee-aa — seeing the teaching, I blossom (vigaas); kirpaa kar kai mayli-an paa-i-aa mokh du-aar — by grace I was joined to it and found the door of liberation (mokh du-aar). Freedom framed as an opening, not an escape.
