Raag Sorath
Commentary

Raag Sorath, Du-Padas, Mehl 5 (Guru Arjan)

The One who made everyone is on the side of the good-hearted, and holds His own the way parents hold a child.

The Arc

Pauri 0: all beings are His making, and He alone is the friend of the good-hearted; He keeps His servants’ honor and brings their goodness to full flower. Rahau (Pauri 1): the perfect One is always with me; guarded completely, now everyone feels kind. Pauri 2: night and day I hold the Name — Giver of soul and breath — and He hugs the one who loves Him close, the way a mother and father hold their child.
