Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੇ ॥
sadaa sadaa har jaapay.
Forever and ever, I chant the Lord's Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਲਕ ਰਾਖੇ ਆਪੇ ॥
parabh baalak raakhay aapay.
God Himself has saved my child.
ਸੀਤਲਾ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਈ ॥
seetlaa thaak rahaa-ee.
He healed him from the smallpox.
ਬਿਘਨ ਗਏ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਈ ॥੧॥
bighan ga-ay har naa-ee. ||1||
My troubles have been removed through the Lord's Name. ||1||

Again and again I keep the Name close, and my child was kept safe and well.
A serious sickness was calmed and eased, and all my troubles lifted away.
In frightening moments, holding the Name close is a way of staying steady while you hope.
prabh baalak raakhe aape — the child protected; seetalaa thaak rahaaee — the illness stilled and eased; troubles gone through the Name (bighan gae har naaee).
