In plain words

A deep, easy peace settles in, and the teaching wraps me in comfort.

I come home carried by honor, and the hopes I held so long are quietly fulfilled.

Real peace feels like coming home with your hopes met.
The deeper layer

When the Guru gives comfort, a deep, easy peace settles in, and you come home with your head held high.

Sookh sahj aanand ghanayray means peace, ease and plenty of joy. Sahj is a special word. It means the calm of a heart that has settled, like a glass of muddy water that has been left still until it turns clear. Nothing has to be forced. The peace just comes.

Satgur dee-aa dilaasaa: the True Guru has given comfort. Sobhaa saytee ghar aa-ay: I came home with honor. Pooran ho-ee aasaa: my hopes were fulfilled. It feels like walking back into your own house after a long, hard day, and finding everyone glad to see you.

A Question to Sit With

What hope are you carrying that you'd love to see fulfilled?
