Says Nanak, remember the Chintaamani, the jewel which fulfills all desires, and you too shall be carried across and saved. ||3||4||

In plain words

Even someone who had lost their way completely turned their life around in a single moment.

Remember the One — the wish-granting jewel within — and you too are carried safely through.

No one is ever past a fresh start.
The deeper layer

This verse says no one is ever too far gone for a fresh start.

Ajaamal, in an old story, was a man the whole world knew for doing wrong. Nimakh maahi nistaaraa: in a single blink, he was carried across into a new life.

Then Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Guru, who calls himself Nanak, speaks to us. Remember the chintaaman. That is a magic jewel from old stories said to grant every wish. Here it stands for the One, living inside each of us.

Think of a game where you can always press "start again," no matter how badly the last round went. Grace is like that. It is a gift always there for us. No one has to earn it first. Tai bhee utreh paaraa: you too will be carried across.

A Question to Sit With

What would help you believe a fresh start is always possible?
