I am a sacrifice to my Guru; forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him. ||3||

In plain words

You made this whole world and set the great game going yourself.

You spun out its many moods and colors, and even the pull of attachment is part of the design.

When we live only from ego, we get tangled and go round and round in circles.

But those you touch with grace are gently shown the way by the teaching.

For that I am endlessly grateful to the One who guides me — again and again, forever.

Even the tangles of the world are part of one design you are held inside of.
The deeper layer

A Pauri of Guru Ram Das echoing Pauri 2: tuDh aapay jagat upaa-ay — You made the world and staged the play; trai gun aap sirji-aa — even the three qualities (the three basic tendencies that weave all experience) come from You. The knot is ha-umai — living from the separate 'I' keeps us aavai jaa-i-aa, coming and going in circles. The release is grace: jinaa har aap kirpaa karay — those the One touches are shown the way. The Vaar keeps balancing its two notes: everything is the One's play, and waking up to that is itself a gift. The Pauri ends, as they often do, in sheer gratitude.

A Question to Sit With

When something feels confusing or tangled, does it help to imagine it might still be part of a bigger picture?
