In plain words

And a simple bed, please, a cot with four legs, a pillow, and a mattress to rest on.

And a light quilt to pull over me at night. Give me just this much, and your servant will do your loving devotion happily, warm, fed, and content, with a full and grateful heart.

A body that is warm and fed makes for a glad, grateful heart.
The deeper layer

The requests stay charmingly modest: a khaat (cot), sirhaanaa (pillow), tulaaee (mattress), kheeNdhaa (quilt). The punchline, bhagat karai jan theeNdhaa (your servant will worship, well-satisfied), turns basic comfort into the ground of glad devotion: a cared-for body makes a grateful heart. No self-abasement, just honest gratitude (voice rules).

A Question to Sit With

How does it feel to do something kind for others when your own basic needs are met and you feel cared for?
