Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O Beloved, if You will never break away from me, then I will never break away from You.

For if I let go of You, tell me, who else in all the world could I ever hold onto?

Some bonds are worth holding onto with your whole heart.
The deeper layer

The Rahao is the heart of the shabad: a vow of unbreakable belonging. Ravidas cannot imagine any other anchor, kavan siau jorahi (with whom would I join?). It is love's total commitment, spoken with a child's directness.

A Question to Sit With

What is a relationship you would never want to let go of?
