Yours is the one and only form of the entire universe; Your mouth is the mint to fashion all. ||1||

In plain words

Wherever there is land, wherever there is water, in every direction — that is Your home. The whole universe is one single shape, and it flows out of You the way coins flow from a mint.

The whole universe is one shape, minted from a single source — like coins all stamped with the same face.
The deeper layer

A short opening (Du-Tukas). The image is startling and beautiful: mukh tayrai taksaalaa — "Your mouth is the mint." A mint is the workshop where coins are stamped out, all bearing the same face. So the whole of creation is "minted" from the One — endlessly varied on the surface, but stamped with a single underlying reality. This is Ik Onkar in a picture: not one god among many, but the single source from which everything is struck. "Your seat is the chamber of the four directions" means there is nowhere the One is not.

A Question to Sit With

If everything around you came from one source, how might that change the way you look at a stranger?
