God has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; I hold tight to the Support of the True Guru. ||4||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One who made you, and then shaped and adorned you — keep that One in mind, day and night.

Grace has already reached me, and I hold tight to the support of the teaching.

The One who made you and made you beautiful is worth keeping in mind, morning and night.
The deeper layer

The turn from passing things to the abiding One. Jin tum sirjay siraj savaaray — who created you and then beautified you — grounds gratitude in the fact of your own existence. The close, prabh kirpaa Dhaaree, states grace as already given, and the response is simply ot gahayhee — to hold on. Not earning, but receiving and keeping hold.

A Question to Sit With

What is something about how you were made that you're grateful for?
