In plain words

O Maker, You fill the hopes of everyone in whose heart You live.

Those who are Yours never forget You — even the dust at Your feet feels precious to them.

The One who lives in your heart is also the one who quietly fills your deepest hopes.
The deeper layer

When the One lives in your heart, the deepest hopes of that heart come true.

This shabad is about belonging. Jaa kai hirdai vasi-aa too kartay taa kee tai aas pujaa-ee — "O Creator, You fill the hopes of everyone in whose heart You live." The One who lives inside a heart also answers that heart's deepest wish.

Then comes a picture Gurbani, the Gurus' words, uses often: charan Dhoor man bhaa-ee — even the dust at the One's feet feels precious. Dust is the plainest, lowest thing there is. Yet it becomes dear when it is near the One you love. Think of the scuffed old shoes of a grandparent you adore. On their own they are nothing special. Because they belong to someone you love, you would never throw them away. Being near the One is the real treasure, and humble hearts treasure that nearness most.

A Question to Sit With

What is a hope you carry quietly that you rarely say out loud?
