One who is blessed with the Mercy of my God, dwells on the Name in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Don't put anyone down for any reason — every single person is the One's own making.

The one grace has reached joins good company and holds the Name close.

Since everyone is made by the same One, putting anyone down never quite makes sense.
The deeper layer

This one says: never put anyone down, because everyone was made by the same One.

Ninda-o naahee kaahoo baatai: don't speak badly of anyone, for any reason. The reason is beautiful. Ayhu khasam kaa kee-aa: everyone is the Creator's own making. To put someone down is to put down the One who made them.

Think of a painter's gallery. Laughing at any one painting is laughing at the painter. This is Ik Onkar, "One Creator," the One in all, turned into everyday kindness.

The line ends with what grace brings. Kirpaa, mercy, leads a person to good company, where they keep the Name close.

A Question to Sit With

Can you think of a kinder way to see someone you were tempted to judge?
