Rest in the One and the Heart Opens Like a Flower

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਜਿਨਾ ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅੰਦੇਸਰੋ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
jinaa baat ko bahut andaysro tay mitay sabh ga-i-aa.
Those things, which caused me such anxiety, have all vanished.

Now, I sleep in peace and tranquility, and my mind is in a state of deep and profound peace; the inverted lotus of my heart has blossomed forth. ||1||

In plain words

The things that used to make me anxious have all melted away.

Now I rest easy, deeply at peace, and my heart has opened like a flower turning to the light.

When you finally rest in the One, old worries melt and your heart opens like a flower.
The deeper layer

A shabad of relief and inner blossoming. Jinaa baat ko bahut andaysro tay mitay sabh — every anxiety, gone. Sahj sain — sleeping/resting in sahaj, natural ease — the Sorath keynote of settledness. The ooDh kamal bigsa-i-aa — the once-inverted lotus of the heart now blossoms (vigaas) — is Gurbani's image for a heart that finally opens upward toward the light.

A Question to Sit With

What is a worry that felt huge once, but seems small now?
