This is what delights the One's own:
they see the One close by, they serve the teaching, and they find joy in singing its praises.
A habit wraps itself around a person. A landowner loves their land.
A baby is wholly happy at its mother's milk. In the same way, the good hold to the One in love.
This one says: loving the One can feel as natural as a baby in its mother's arms.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. It names the one thing that delights the One's people. They see the One close by. They serve the Guru, the true teacher. And har keertan hee tariptaavai: singing the One's praises is what fills them up. Keertan means singing the One's praises, and here it is pure warmth.
Then come the pictures. An amlee, someone hooked on a habit, clings to that habit. A landowner loves their land. And most tender of all, kheer sang baarik: a baby is fully content at its mother's milk. That is how the good hold on to the One.
The baby picture changes everything. Love here is not a chore on a to-do list. It is the most natural belonging there is, like a baby who knows exactly where it is safe.
What is something that makes you feel completely safe and content, like nothing else is missing?
