In God's Sanctuary, all fears depart, suffering disappears, and peace is obtained.

When the Supreme Lord God and Master becomes merciful, we meditate on the Perfect True Guru. ||1||

In plain words

In the shelter of the One, every fear lets go, the aches fade, and a real peace settles in.

When kindness turns toward us, we naturally hold the perfect teacher in mind and heart.

In real shelter, fear finally sets itself down.
The deeper layer

Prabh kee saran sagal bhai laathay — in shelter, all fears set themselves down. The verse links two things gently: the One turning da-i-aal (kind), and our turning to meditate on the sat-gur. It is not that we earn the kindness by meditating; the kindness is always here, and turning toward it is simply how we step out of the shadow into what was already shining.

A Question to Sit With

Where, or with whom, do you feel most able to let your guard down?
