The Wall Between You and Everything Was Never Solid

ਪੇਖਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
paykhi-o parabh jee-o apunai sangay chookai bheet bharmaaree. ||3||
I see God always with me, and the wall of doubt has been shattered. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Then I saw it — the One was with me all along — and the wall of doubt just crumbled away.

The wall between you and everything was never as solid as it felt.
The deeper layer

Paykhi-o prabh jee-o apunai sangay — seeing that the One was always right here, at your side; chookai bheet bharmaaree — the wall of doubt falls. The "wall" is the felt sense of separation, the belief that you are on your own. It does not have to be climbed or knocked down by effort — when you finally notice what was already true, it simply is not there anymore.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you were sure kept you apart from others that turned out not to?
