The Perfect Lord is completely permeating everyone, everywhere; He is diffused in the water and the land. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

Friends, the One is soaking through every heart, without exception.

Filling everyone, everywhere, it flows through the water and the land — there is no place it is not.

There is no place, and no one, the One is not already inside.
The deeper layer

There is no heart and no place where the One is not already present.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Santahu ghat ghat rahi-aa samaahi-o — friends, the One is soaking through each and every heart. Jal thal rama-ee-aa — the One is in the water and on the land.

Think of the air in your house. It is not only in the living room. It fills every room, every closet, every corner. You breathe it wherever you go.

That is Ik Onkaar, "there is One," said as plainly as it can be. The One does not live in one special place and stay away from the rest. The One is woven through every place. Nothing is left out, and no place is forgotten.

A Question to Sit With

Where is a place you thought was ordinary that might actually be full of wonder?
