Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:

Sexual desire, anger, greed, falsehood and slander - please, save me from these, O Lord.
ih bheetar tay in ka-o daarahu aapan nikat bulaavhu. ||1||
Please eradicate these from within me, and call me to come close to You. ||1||

In plain words

The pulls that trip me up — grabbing, anger, greed, dishonesty, tearing others down — gently free me from all of them.

Clear them out from inside me, and draw me in close to You.

Getting free of what harms you and being drawn close are the same step.
The deeper layer

Kaam krodh lobh jhooth nindaa in tay aap chhadaavahu — the verse names the familiar pulls (craving, anger, greed, falseness, running others down) and asks to be freed from them. Notice the posture: not "I will crush these by willpower," but aap chhadaavahu — You free me. And the goal is not just to be rid of faults but the tender aapan nikat bulaavhu — call me close. Getting free of what harms us and being drawn near are one movement.

A Question to Sit With

Which of these pulls do you most want help with — and who could you ask?
