ਗੁਰ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ॥

jin sun sikhaa gur mani-aa tinaa bhukh sabh jaavee. ||18||
Those Sikhs who hear and obey the Guru - all their desires depart. ||18||

The students who hear and obey the teaching find all their cravings depart.
To listen deeply to what is true, and act on it, slowly frees a person from the endless, restless wanting.
The verse pictures the teaching's words as "Ambrosial Nectar" — sweet, life-giving speech. And it names a great fruit of really hearing and obeying: "all their desires depart."
