Verse 3 of 3

However Late It Feels, It's Not Too Late

ਅਜਹੂ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
ajhoo kachh bigri-o nahee jo parabh gun gaavai.
Even now, no harm has been done, if you will only sing God's Praises.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਭਜਨ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੧॥
kaho naanak tih bhajan tay nirbhai pad paavai. ||2||1||
Says Nanak, by meditating and vibrating upon Him, you shall obtain the state of fearlessness. ||2||1||

In plain words

Even now, no harm has been done — if only you will sing the One's praises.

Nanak says: remember the One, and you will come into fearlessness.

However late it feels, it's not too late — 'even now, no harm done' — and turning toward the One brings fearlessness, not dread.
The deeper layer

The verse holds the Ninth Master's characteristic mercy: "even now, no harm has been done." However late it feels, it is not too late — the door is still open, and "if you will only sing God's Praises," the whole thing turns. And the fruit is fearlessness — the settled courage of a heart anchored in the One. The wake-up about the cracked pitcher ends not in dread but in a hopeful, open door and the promise of a life without fear.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel it's 'too late' to change? What if it isn't — what if no harm is yet done?
