Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Go and ask the glad, pure brides: how did you reach your Beloved?
Whatever the One does, take it as good; drop your own cleverness and self-will. By His love the true wealth comes — so fasten your heart to His feet. Do as your Beloved wishes; give Him your body and mind — wear that as your perfume. This is what the happy bride says, sister: this is how the Beloved is found.
The answer comes not as a lecture but as advice from those who have arrived — "go and ask the happy soul-brides." And their answer is acceptance and surrender: "whatever the Lord does, accept that as good; do away with your own cleverness and self-will." The way to the Beloved is not more striving but the laying down of the self-will that was striving. "Give Him your body and mind, and apply this perfume" — surrender itself is the adornment. The ones who found Him did so by stopping the fight with reality and giving themselves over.
What would 'accepting whatever comes as good, and dropping your own cleverness' change for you right now?
